started in the UAE," says Dahabra
Dubai, 28 October 2000
info2cell, the Middle East's pioneering mobile information
services provider, has welcomed the launch of WAP mobile Internet
access services in the UAE by Etisalat, the Emirates' telecommunications
provider. "Etisalat has launched WAP with a full-service offering,
drawing on content provided by info2cell's rich information services.
We have worked with Etisalat long and hard as they achieved the
excellent information access that the new service offers on launch,
and we congratulate Etisalat on this key achievement," said info2cell
CEO Bashar Dahabra.
info2cell's mobile information services offering consists
of 200 categories of information available in Web, PDA (personal
digital assistant) and WAP formats. The info2cell services are available
to Etisalat WAP customers from today.
Configuring today's WAP-enabled GSM mobile telephones
to get WAP access is made simpler through comprehensive instructions
that have been available to WAP-enabled handset users for some months
on info2cell's web site at www.Info2cell.
"Get enabled, get mobile and get connected," said Dahabra. "There's
a world of mobile information waiting, and we're adding more services
and more value to WAP users every day. Etisalat's market-leading
announcement has opened the floodgates of the mobile information
