Akhbar DSF, the free mobile information service of the Dubai Shopping Festival, proves to be a hit with GSM mobile users Dubai,

UAE - 20 March 2000

Thousands of GSM mobile phone users from over 25 countries have subscribed to Akhbar DSF, the free mobile information service of the Dubai Shopping Festival. The service, introduced by Dubai Shopping Festival, in association with Etisalat and
Info2cell, will be available throughout the 31-day Festival.

"More than 200,000 SMS messages containing news and information about DSF events have been sent to Akhbar DSF subscribers so far", said Hussein Lootah, chief executive of the Dubai Shopping Festival. "We had over 2,500 subscribers in the first full week of service alone. Akhbar DSF is another example of how government and private organizations have worked together to make this year's DSF the most successful ever."

Each day the Akhbar DSF mobile information service helps DSF visitors to keep in touch with the more than 500 events taking place during the Festival. Subscribers to the service receive news of winners of prize draws, special DSF events and much more. Akhbar DSF also delivers really-time news and information not only on the Festival's activities, but also World News Headlines and Gulf Regional News Headlines.

"Subscribing to Akhbar DSF is simple," said Mr. Bashar Dahabra, Managing Director of Info2cell. "Any GSM user with roaming access or any Etisalat GSM service user will be able to subscribe to the information service via the Shopping Festival website, www.mydsf.com or by calling Ahlan Dubai telephone service. DSF visitors also get to experience the future of GSM, subscribing to a first taste of a new generation value-added service that mobile users will come to enjoy in the future."

Visitors and residents can subscribe to the service online by simply following the promotional banners on www.mydsf.com, www.emirates.net.ae or from
www.Info2cell to the Akhbar DSF registration page on the Internet or by calling the DSF's Ahlan telephone services on tollfree number 904 0099.

"This service would not have been possible without the close cooperation of Etisalat and its staff, who worked hard and cooperated with Info2cell in the days prior to the beginning of DSF in launching the service on March 1st even though we had limited time. Etisalat as always proved to be reliable partner and extended their utmost cooperation in making Akhbar DSF a success," concluded Dahabra.

Info2cell is managing three different information services for DSF: a public service for visitors, a service for the DSF press committee and a service for the main DSF committee to keep them informed instantly of breaking DSF news.
